The Advisory Board of the Institute for Teaching and Learning is soliciting nominations from senior faculty and academic administrators for the 2006-2007 University of Connecticut Teaching Fellows. It is intended that up to four such Fellows will be honored and each awarded a stipend of $3,000. The funds are to be used at the recipients' discretion with the single restriction that they be used in support of their instructional programs. The Fellows will be named at a special dinner to be held on April 24, 2006 and presented with medallions during the 2006 undergraduate commencement activities. Teaching Fellows engage in a number of teaching and learning activities including participation in workshops developed by the Institute for Teaching and Learning, allowing teaching assistants to visit their classrooms, and serving as mentors for faculty in their discipline or cognate areas. Nomination Information The nomination form is available in pdf format or may be obtained from ITL by calling Edye at 860-486-2686. The structured nomination form captures the essence of the faculty member’s scholarship with respect to teaching and is formed to allow the essentials of the nomination to be gathered in a minimum of space. It is suggested that the nominator prepare a cover sheet outlining the case in broad terms while adding particulars in the format of the nomination form. Some of the sections ask for the candidate's details and it is expected that the candidate will provide those to the nominator. Nominations (original and six copies) must be received by 4:00pm on March 3, 2006. Send nominations to: Teaching Fellow Awards Spring 2006 (Dates to Note)
